Visceral Pilates

Discover the power of Visceral Pilates at Pilates Studio 82.

Improve local muscle strength and optimise organ function for better posture and health.

Visceral Pilates relieves the abdomen and pelvic floor, reduces internal pressure and activates the deep muscles in a targeted way. It is based on axial extension with the natural double-S curve of the spine. This posture improves alignment, stability and body awareness.

Thanks to the special breathing technique – on the exhale the abdomen stays flat and drawn inward – the pressure in the abdominal cavity is regulated and the pelvic floor is protected. The result is healthy posture, a balanced cortisol level and a lasting strengthening of the muscles and organ function.

Visceral Pilates strengthens the deep muscles, relieves the abdomen and pelvic floor and improves posture. Targeted breathing and the natural double-S curve create stability from the inside out – gentle, effective and sustainable.

From the inside out: breathing, organs and the deep core working together.

What is Visceral Pilates?

Pilates that works from the inside out.

Most Pilates methods train the muscles you can see. Visceral Pilates goes deeper. By precisely regulating the pressure in your abdomen, it activates the deep core that supports your organs, your spine and every movement you make. The result is a body that is not just stronger, but truly in balance.

This is why Visceral Pilates succeeds where other approaches stop: with persistent back pain, poor posture, restricted mobility, recovery after pregnancy or simply the feeling that your body is not working the way it should.

The method was born in 2004, when Karolina Schmid and PILATESwiss developed a Pilates programme for the renowned Schulthess Klinik in Zurich. Today it is an evidence-based approach, backed by an international medical advisory board and practised by a growing community worldwide: the Visceral Revolution.

At Pilates Studio 82 you train this method one-to-one or in small groups, in a space made for women. Feel the difference after your very first session.
